FDEP considered those who were arrested in Al- Tahrir sit-in the rule of forcibly disappeared according to article 2 of the International Convention of Protection of All Persons from enforced Disappearance, adopted on 2006. This after attempts of FDEP lawyers failed to know their fate, reasons of detention or place of detention accurately. FDEP put responsibility on the Military Supreme Council for lives of more than 100 Egyptian citizen lost connection with outside world in one of military forces detention places.
It is worthy note that more than 100 Egyptian citizens were arrested on afternoon of 9th of March in their exercise of peaceful assembly and demonstration in AL-Tahrir Square. This was accompanied with violations of demonstrators' rights included attacks for demonstrators by beaten them with sticks and electric shocks. Journalists were prevented to be present in the square.

FDEP went to the military prosecution after they received information from one of military forces who were in the square that arrested will be brought before military prosecution. However, military prosecution did not disclose to lawyers reasons for detention of demonstrators or specify exact location of their detention. Lawyers tried to file a request to the prosecution to enable them to attend investigations with demonstrators but the prosecution refused to receipt the request . This act called FDEP to send official telegraph to allow lawyers to attend investigation when it starts.

In the meantime, some media including state television presented some footages for what they called" thugs" who they arrested, some political activists appeared in these footages, including the artist –Aly Sophie. This shows the leis of Egyptian authority that "they arrested thugs".

On the other hand, FDEP received torture testimonies for some of released and FDEP is documenting torture cases, demonstrators faced.
